Brief History of Bangladesh School Ja’alan
Bangladesh School Ja'alan is the first branch of Bangladesh School Muscat. Bangladesh School Ja'alan started its holy mission in the year 1996 aiming at spreading the light of education among the children of expatriate Bangladeshi people living in Ja'alan and its surrounding area. The school was established by the initiative of numerous Bangladeshi stakeholders in Ja'alan and Al Kamil area.
The first Bangladeshi Ambassador Late Major General Amin Ahmed Chowdhury BB. psc. (Retd) to Sultanate of Oman had a great contribution towards the education of the expatriate Bangladeshi community in Sultanate of Oman under the sponsorship of Bangladesh Embassy. The school was established with the gracious donation of land with a building by a benevolent Omani Mr. Said Rashid Bin Hamed Al Ghamboosi (late) along with the appropriate support of Bangladesh Embassy in Sultanate of Oman.
Late Major General Amin Ahmed Chowdhury BB. psc. (Retd) laid the foundation stone for Bangladesh school Ja'alan on 27 February 1997. It was inaugurated on 21 September 2000 by Mr. Abdullah Al Mandhari, the Honorable Wali of Ja'alan B.B. Ali of Sultanate of Oman. The institution follows IGCSE Edexcel curriculam.
Initially it was run by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Muscat. Later, administration and management were handed over to the Bangladeshi Parents’ community. The school is currently run by the Board of Directors of Bangladesh School Muscat and is supervised by the Local Management Committee of Bangladesh School Ja'alan.The school is open to students of all nationalities .Mr. Zahid Al Mamun is the acting Principal of the school.
